The project
Taking a national exam off paper for good
CMA France, the public body federating the Chambers of Trades and Crafts, runs the yearly licensing exam for taxi, VTC and VMDTR drivers. In 2024, more than 50,000 candidates sat the exam — run entirely on paper: printed and sealed question papers, scanned answer sheets for grading.
CMA France selected Melis Platform to design a centralised, secure digital platform covering the whole journey — from a candidate's registration to the publication of results — interfacing with the Ministry of the Interior, the prefectures and the National Printing Office.

A frictionless registration and payment journey
Document upload with built-in cropping tools, simplified identification via FranceConnect / FranceIdentité, and online payment to banking standards — handled end to end by Melis Commerce, with real-time tracking straight into the CMA's own systems.
Faster results, without compromising on reliability
Every session generates its own randomised question papers to limit fraud. Scanned answer sheets are graded automatically for MCQs; short open-answer questions get assisted grading — so an examiner validates rather than re-keys.
A three-level back office, down to every exam centre
The national manager runs the calendar and question papers for the whole network; regional managers organise theory sessions; local managers validate cases and run the practical exam — each with the tabs, statistics and exports suited to their scope.

The platform runs on ISO 27001 certified hosting, with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, strong authentication via OneLogin IAM, and GDPR compliance built in from the start.
